The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Organizers, Osman Abdullah Nabali and Richard Etornam Nyarko, have issued a press statement urging party faithfuls to disregard allegations circulating within some NDC supporters that the Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, has the final say in the selection of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).
In the statement, the Youth Organizers expressed their concern over malicious posts and attacks coming from faceless individuals aimed at tarnishing the hard-earned reputation of the Chief of Staff. They emphasized that these allegations are false and without basis, and that the Local Government Minister is the only person authorized to appoint MMDCEs or amend the list submitted to the Presidency.
The statement clarified that the National Chairman and his appointing team are responsible for submitting the list of MMDCEs to the Presidency, and that the Chief of Staff has no interest in making any amendments to the list. The Youth Organizers stressed that Mr. Julius Debrah is a responsible and respected party person who will not undermine the work of the committee headed by the National Chairman.
The Youth Organizers urged party faithfuls to disregard these baseless allegations and to focus on the party’s agenda. They emphasized that anyone making such unfounded attacks on the Chief of Staff’s character should be treated with contempt.
