A group of lecturers affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held a press conference to address several issues within the party, including the conduct of Kwame Baffoe, alias Abronye DC, and the proposed restructuring of the party.

The group, known as Concerned Lecturers of the NPP, is headed by Mr. Oppong Michael (MRes/Mphil.), Assistant Librarian, Kumasi Technical University, and Mr. Isaac Owusu Mensah (Msc.), Assistant Planning Officer, Kumasi Technical University.

According to the group,”We, the Concerned Lecturers of the NPP, are committed to the party’s ideals and believe that it must remain a democratic, principled, and people-centered force. We urge the party leadership to take decisive action to address the issues raised and ensure that the party returns to its founding principles.”

The group emphasized the need for the party to prioritize discipline, democracy, and inclusivity, and to take steps to rebuild and strengthen its structures.

The NPP has not yet officially responded to the concerns raised by the Concerned Lecturers. However, the group hopes that their concerns will be taken seriously and addressed in a timely manner.

The issues raised by the Concerned Lecturers have significant implications for the NPP’s future. If not addressed, they could potentially undermine the party’s unity and effectiveness.

The Concerned Lecturers have called on the party leadership to take immediate action to address the issues raised. The group has also urged the party’s national council and NEC to reconsider the proposed restructuring model and prioritize the party’s democratic foundations.
