DCE Supports Fire Victim at Mankranso Betoum with GH₵10,000

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, has donated GH₵10,000 to support a victim of a recent fire outbreak in Betoum, Mankranso.

The unfortunate incident, which occurred on Wednesday, March 10, 2026, destroyed a room in a residential building, leaving the occupant, Kweku Gyedu, and his family devastated as all his belongings were completely burnt in the fire.

Presenting the support, Hon. Sedik expressed sympathy to the victim and assured him of his concern for residents affected by such disasters.

He explained that the donation was to help Mr Gyedu begin rebuilding the burnt room and restore some hope after the loss.

Hon Abubakar Sedik has also provided a place for the victim and his family to occupy until the building is built and completed.

Kweku Gyedu, the victim, expressed profound gratitude to the DCE for the timely assistance, noting that the support would go a long way to help him rebuild his life.

Meanwhile, the Assembly Member for the Betoum Electoral Area, Hon. Paul Kwesi Amegboe, used the opportunity to appeal to the DCE and the District Assembly to facilitate the deployment of officers from the Ghana National Fire Service to Mankranso to occupy the completed fire station in Mankranso.

According to him, the presence of fire officers in the area will ensure a quick response to fire outbreaks and help protect lives and property within the District.

Residents who gathered at the scene also commended the DCE for his swift intervention and continued support to people in distress across the District.
