The De Mayor Foundation, founded by Mr. David Selasie Anthony, on Friday, December 27, 2025, brought smiles and renewed hope to widows and other vulnerable members of the Adeiso community in the Eastern Region, as part of activities marking the Christmas festivities.

The large-scale humanitarian outreach, led by the management and volunteers of the Foundation, benefited over 700 residents, each of whom received a 5kg bag of rice. The exercise also saw the distribution of about 500 live chickens, 1,000 branded exercise books for schoolchildren, assorted soft drinks, cooking oil and other essential food items to support beneficiaries during the festive season.

In a move to promote holistic care and community well-being, the Foundation organised a free health screening exercise alongside the donation. A team of medical professionals, including nurses and doctors from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), conducted general medical examinations and offered professional health advice to participants.

Beneficiaries of the initiative included widows, the aged, persons living with disabilities and schoolchildren, many of whom expressed gratitude to the Foundation for what they described as a timely intervention that eased their burden during the Christmas season.

Speaking after the event, representatives of the De Mayor Foundation reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and improving the welfare of underserved communities across the country. They disclosed that similar Christmas outreach programmes would be extended to other regions in the coming days.

The Foundation also expressed its appreciation to the chiefs and people of Adeiso for their warm reception, cooperation and support, which contributed to the success of the programme.

Through initiatives such as this, the De Mayor Foundation continues to demonstrate its dedication to promoting social welfare, improving livelihoods and enhancing the health and well-being of communities nationwide.
