Ejura MP Presents farming tractor worth 6.5 billion old cedis to accident victims at Mfrante

Former President John Dramani Mahama and the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) through the Member of Parliament for Ejura in the Ashanti region has on Sunday 28th July 2024 donated a farming tractor worth 6.5 billion old cedis to members of the party at the Mfrante branch in the Ejura Constituency of the Ashanti Region who were involved in an accident in the run-up to the December 2020 elections.

The farming tractor according to the MP is to help them do modern system of farming so as to increase yield to their benefits .

 

The November 21 accident, which occurred when the supporters and members of the party were travelling to Ejura for a constituency rally, resulted in some deaths while a number of the NDC members and supporters including the Branch Chairman had their legs and arms amputated.

The Member of Parliament,Hon Muhammed Bawa Braimah who visited the Mfrante community to console the families of the dead, however thanked the chiefs and people for their care for the injured and also personally visited the injured.

He however used the occasion and presented a farming tractor worth a whooping 6.5 million cedis, which he said was in fulfillment of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama’s promise he made to the accident victims in the said community upon his visit to the community some months ago.

He revealed that, the donation would go a long way to fetch money for the affected people to feed themselves so that they can be comfortable in their day to day activities.

The family of the victims and the injured, speaking through the Branch Chairman for Frante, thanked the former president for his assistance and support, through the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejura Sekyedumase, Bawa Braimah Mohammed, for their welfare.

They were grateful to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for the support and prayed that John Dramani Mahama wins the 2024 election.

Former President Mahama had earlier presented an amount of GH¢50,000 to the victims and announced that all those with amputations would receive prosthesis, an artificial replacement for a missing limb while others with any complications would also be given further treatment in Accra and asked the MP to liaise with his office to facilitate their treatments.
