The National House of Chiefs has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election in the 2024 general elections.

Free and fair elections, the House says, will let the losers accept the outcome of the elections in good faith to avoid any incidence of election violence.

Addressing the House at their last meeting of the year in Kumasi today, the President of the House, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, said election violence is “expensive” and should be avoided at all costs.

Ogyeahoho who doubles as the Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso called on the political actors and the various political parties to embark on an insult-free and decent campaign based on issues.

Ogyeahoho also called on the government to intensify the fight against galamsey activities and engage Nananom on the menace.
