Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Agambilla, (President) CEO of Fast Track Group of Companies, which includes a college and football academy in the Sekyere South District of the Ashanti region, has appealed to the Ghanaian government to consider placing some first-year students in private senior high schools based on infrastructure availability.
The CEO made this appeal due to the impact of the Free Senior High School policy on private SHS enrollment.
Many students admitted to private schools have opted for government schools instead.
Alhaji Agambilla suggested that the government consider allocating students to private schools based on their infrastructure to alleviate overcrowding in government schools.
He made this appeal during the College Students’ Representative Council week, themed “Empowering Students Leaders Through Global Alliance.” The college has a 15-year partnership with a UK school to provide holistic education to students in Africa and the UK.
Fast Track College Headmaster, Mr. Oduro Amaning, emphasized that education goes beyond academics, focusing on developing compassionate, responsible, and engaged citizens. He acknowledged the invaluable support of parents and guardians.
The Director of Education for Sekyere South District, Mr. Solomon Owusu, praised the CEO’s investment in children’s education and encouraged students to prioritize their academic work while also pursuing sports and practical skills. He assured the college of government support.
