Friends and Supporters of Prof Naana Opoku Agyemang, running mate to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama have descended heavily on saboteurs who are trying to paint Prof Naana Opoku Agyemang black after her endorsement to partner John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 general elections.
In a statement copied to broadcastergh.com yesterday ,the undersigned supporters addressed a recent assertions made by one Mr. Basoah of Kumawu regarding the age suitability of the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) running mate.
According to them,while Mr. Basoah is a member of the NDC, it’s crucial to clarify that his views do not represent the stance of the Ashanti NDC or its constituents.
“As friends and supporters of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang in the Ashanti region, we wholeheartedly endorse her as the running mate for the NDC. Professor Opoku-Agyemang’s impact on the 2020 election cannot be overstated.
Her strategic influence contributed significantly to the NDC securing more parliamentary seats in the Central Region, and her appeal resonated deeply with female voters, bolstering support for the NDC.
It is important to note that her selection has garnered widespread approval within the Ashanti NDC, from the regional secretariat to all branches. The council of elders in the Ashanti region also stands firmly behind her candidacy. Therefore, Mr. Basoah’s assertion should not be given undue weight by the media.
