The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially completed the posting of teachers returning to active duty after study leave, bringing clarity and relief to hundreds of educators across the country who have been awaiting their placements.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the Service and dated 30th January, 2026, GES management announced that all necessary arrangements have been concluded to ensure the smooth reintegration of affected teachers into the education system. The announcement, released under the headline “Immediate Release – Postings of Teachers Returning from Study Leave,” underscores the Service’s commitment to maintaining stability and continuity in teaching and learning nationwide.
According to the statement, teachers who have completed their approved study leave are required to independently verify their postings online. GES has provided a dedicated portal through which returning teachers can access the Postings Checker to confirm their assigned stations. Once verified, teachers are expected to print their placement slips as part of the official documentation process.
The Service further directed that all printed placement slips must be submitted to the respective Regional Education Directorates between Monday, 2nd February and Friday, 6th February. This exercise will enable the Regional Directorates to issue formal posting letters to the teachers, thereby completing the administrative process for their return to duty.
Management of GES expressed satisfaction with the completion of the posting exercise and warmly welcomed all returning teachers back into the Service. The statement emphasized the vital role teachers play in national development and urged them to promptly report to their assigned stations to resume their duties with dedication and professionalism.
“The Ghana Education Service is happy to receive returning teachers back into the Service. We urge all to report to their assigned stations and serve our dear country well,” the statement noted.
The release was signed by Mr. Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, who reaffirmed the Service’s appreciation for the patience and cooperation of teachers throughout the process.
This latest development is expected to strengthen staffing across schools, particularly at a time when the education sector continues to focus on improving quality instruction and learning outcomes.
Education stakeholders have welcomed the announcement, noting that the timely posting of returning teachers will help address workload pressures in many public schools and enhance effective teaching delivery.
With the postings now finalized, all eyes are on the returning teachers as they prepare to take up their new assignments and contribute once again to shaping the future of Ghana’s learners.
