The governing board of Ghana Gas Company Limited, led by Hon. Kofi Totobi Quakyi, has embarked on a one-day working visit to the Western Region. The visit aimed to familiarize the new board with the company’s operational and management processes.
During the visit, the team engaged with workers at the Takoradi office, discussing key policy resets. They also paid a courtesy call on the President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Kobina Nketsiah (V), to discuss issues affecting the region’s well-being.
The board and entourage visited operational sites in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis, where workers shared their frustrations about logistical and welfare constraints. The team also held extensive deliberations with the operators and managers of the Karpower Ship.
Ghana Gas currently supplies between 80 to 90 million standard cubic feet of gas daily to the Karpower Ship, which contributes 23% of the energy needs of the national grid. The management of the Karpower Ship commended Ghana Gas’s management and technical team for their efficiency and reliability in supplying gas.
The board chairman and members are optimistic about turning the company’s fortunes around by streamlining operations, focusing on core mandates, and improving staff welfare. CEO Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay assured the technical team of the power ship of a constant gas supply to ensure reliable electricity for the people of Ghana.
