Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation, a department of GNPC has organised a training and empowering programme for 2,135 individuals across 12 regions.
The programme which seeks to empower dreams and impact lives, targets the informal sector for its beneficiaries.
The training which commenced last year with a Phase 1, trained 389 individuals in the Ashanti Region, focused on six regions.
The Phase 2 of the training which commenced yesterday in Kumasi, seeks to train 315 individuals in the Ashanti Region, and 1,820 individuals across 11 regions.
Speaking to the press, Mr. Moses Antwi Benefo, Head of Media, GNPC Foundation disclosed that the programme is a “livelihood empowerment” one.
Mr. Benefo emphasised that they (GNPC) are responsible for given out the start-up tools, but the examination and certification is conducted and done by NVTI respectively.
Mr. Moses Antwi Benefo advised participants not to sell the start-up tools given to them upon graduation, but rather work with them, so that their dependants and Ghana as whole can benefit from them. END.
