Hon. Samuel Atta-Mills, Member of Parliament for Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem constituency, recently conducted a visit to the Elmina fishing port as part of his ongoing effort to connect with constituents.

During the visit, he engaged with workers to understand their challenges and took note of the condition of the Elmina fish processing plant, emphasizing the need for its revival—a project initiated under the previous administration—to stimulate employment and bolster the local economy.

Addressing concerns about the heavily silted landing site, Atta Mills inquired about plans for its desilting to ensure improved fishing operations and hygiene standards within the community.

He also took the opportunity to interact with traders, offering words of encouragement amidst the perceived economic challenges. Additionally, Atta Mills reassured the youth of his continued support in his role as both their MP and a guiding figure.

Leaders in the community, along with the fisherfolk, expressed gratitude for Hon. Atta Mills’ visit, acknowledging his attention to their concerns and ongoing support for their livelihoods.
