Huawei Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ghana’s digital transformation agenda by donating a range of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment to the Ministry of the Interior.

The presentation was led by Mr. Ethan Sun, Account Director of Huawei Ghana’s Enterprise Division, and formally received by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Accra.

The donated ICT equipment is expected to significantly enhance the operational efficiency of the Ministry and its allied agencies, while strengthening internal communication systems, data management, and overall service delivery.

The intervention forms part of Huawei Ghana’s broader corporate social responsibility and long-standing partnership with government institutions in advancing technology-driven governance.

Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Ethan Sun emphasized Huawei’s dedication to supporting Ghana’s public sector with innovative and reliable digital solutions. He noted that the donation aligns with the company’s vision of leveraging technology to improve public administration, security coordination, and institutional effectiveness.
“Huawei remains committed to working closely with the Government of Ghana to support digital infrastructure development, particularly within critical institutions such as the Ministry of the Interior, whose mandate is central to national security and public safety,” Mr. Sun stated.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Ministry, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak expressed profound appreciation to Huawei Ghana for the timely support.

He described the donation as a significant contribution toward the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations and transition into a more digitally driven institution.

According to the Minister, effective use of technology is essential to improving coordination among security agencies under the Ministry, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and ensuring efficient service delivery to the public.

“This donation will go a long way in strengthening our operational capacity and supporting our digital transformation agenda,” Hon. Muntaka said. “We are grateful to Huawei Ghana for being a dependable partner in our quest to build a modern, responsive, and efficient Interior Ministry.”

He further underscored the government’s commitment to embracing digital solutions across all sectors as part of broader public sector reforms, noting that partnerships with reputable technology firms remain critical to achieving these objectives.

The donation ceremony was attended by officials from the Ministry of the Interior, representatives of Huawei Ghana, and other stakeholders, who lauded the collaboration as a model for effective public-private partnership in national development.

Huawei Ghana has, over the years, played a key role in Ghana’s ICT ecosystem, supporting projects in telecommunications, digital infrastructure, training, and public sector modernization.

The latest donation to the Ministry of the Interior adds to the company’s growing footprint in supporting governance, security, and institutional efficiency through technology.

The Ministry of the Interior oversees several security agencies, and the enhancement of its ICT capacity is expected to contribute positively to coordination, information sharing, and the overall effectiveness of security operations nationwide.
