Mr Joseph Yamin, National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress has refuted claims as reported on myjoyonline that he has been locked up at the NDC Ashanti Regional party office.
According to him ,the intended press conference organized by himself and his team was not abruptly disrupted by a group of angry youth midway through the event but the group was only demanding actions and not press conference.
According to the report, the supposed young men stormed the venue, visibly upset, and confronted Mr. Yamin and his team, accusing them of inciting tensions ahead of the elections.
The hard working National Organizer indicated, the young men who stormed the venue amidst the press conference were party taskforce who wanted authorities to act on an intelligence they gathered instead of addressing the press.
The taskforce was of the view that the the press conference only derails the party’s drive towards a successful national campaign adding that this was not the time to address the press but rather take action to secure a resounding victory.
Addressing the press, leader of the taskforce, Chairman Jango explaned that their main motive is to secure victory for the NDC and they interrupted the press conference not because they were furious at authorities but thought the press conference was just a waste of time and money.
