Isaac Nsiah Foster an Investigative Broadcast Journalist has been enstooled as Asantehene Safiesohene Chief linguist a very crucial role at Manhyia Palace as far as tradition and customs are concerned.
He ascends the stool under the traditional stool Nana Yaw Nsiah, he is the first chief linguist who hail from Manso Atwere in the Amansie West district of the Ashanti region.
The colourful coronation ceremony, which took place on Friday, December 5, 2025, brought together a large number of traditional authorities, security officers, public servants, business men and women, residents among other people from all the spectrum of the society.
It was carried out with traditional drumming and dancing and other customs that fueled the rich and beautiful culture of the people of Asante.
Addressing the media after his enstoolment Nana Yaw Nsiah who has been working as human rights advocate, former para legal with the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative ( CHRI ), Ashanti regional office, director in charge of human rights for Africa Liberators and Economic Institute (ALEI), deputy news editor of the Ghanaian Watch and producer for Sompa TV/ FM co-host Nana Yaa Serwaah expressed his profound gratitude to the kingmakers, especially Nana Akwasi Amoaten Otumfuo Safiesohene also Abuakwa – Kegyasehene, elders, my family members, and all friends who came from far cities such Accra, Takoradi, Sunyani, Goaso and so on for the confidence reposed in him.
” I am very grateful to the Almighty God for bringing me this far, I’m pleased with this great honour and responsibility to serve the people of Abuakwa – Kegyase, the great King Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Asanteman, I promised to use my experience in journalism to help transform and develop the chieftancy institution particularly within my jurisdiction”.
” It’s my dream to ensure peace and unity among the Kegyase royal family is maintained so that Kegyase will be among the first class communities in Kumasi.
The newly Otumfuo Safiesohene Chief linguist Nana Yaw Nsiah also Abuakwa – Kegyase Chief linguist admonished residents to support him in his role to ensure development of the Abuakwa – Kegyase community.
He stressed the need for stronger collaboration with the media and other stake holders to improve the chieftaincy institution as well as development of the Kegyase community.
He outlined the areas such disputes settlement, security for the people of Abuakwa – Kegyase, education among other areas that will help transform the community.
Among the people who were enstooled including Nana Adwoah Asantewaa Kegyase and Nana Yeboah Abuakwa – Kegyase Mma Mmahene.
Before the swearing of oath allegiance, Otumfuo Safiesohene also Abuakwa – Kegyasehene Nana Akwasi Amoaten disclosed he has been knowing Mr. Isaac Nsiah Foster in the journalism for about nineteen years and described him as very obedient, sober, intelligent and above all very respectful person which according to him Isaac Nsiah Foster now with traditional stool name Nana Yaw Nsiah can serve and serve better to ensure that Kegyase is well developed. He advised Nana Yaw Nsiah to eschew all forms disseminating of information that will bring down the hard won reputation for the chieftancy institution rather used his experience in journalism to foster peace, unity and development.
