Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central Constituency, has demonstrated her commitment to promoting education in her constituency. Today, she paid a four-month salary advance to 32 community teaching assistants across eight communities, benefiting over 1,300 pupils.
The communities and schools that benefited from this initiative include:
– *Bredi D/A Basic School*: 206 pupils, costing GH¢2,700 per month
– *Dwete D/A Basic School*: 146 pupils, costing GH¢2,400 per month
– *Anomatewa D/A Primary School*: 107 pupils, costing GH¢2,140 per month
– *Atonsu Community School*: 157 pupils, costing GH¢5,000 per month
– *House of Joy Preparatory School*: 147 pupils, costing GH¢3,000 per month
– *Amuni D/A Basic School*: 246 pupils
– *Amuni RC Basic School*: 204 pupils
– *Fureso D/A Primary School*: benefiting from this initiative
Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe’s vision is to promote teaching and learning in rural communities where there is a shortage of teachers. This initiative also aims to alleviate the burden of levies on parents in these communities. The total cost of this initiative is GH¢269,280 per year, with GH¢89,760 paid in advance for four months.
A team led by Kofi Amissah, Constituency Organizer, and Peter Amponsah, Deputy Constituency Secretary, made the payment on behalf of Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe. The payment was received by NDC branch executives, Nananom, SMC, school administrators, and PTA executives on behalf of the communities.
