The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has outlined an ambitious and transformative development blueprint aimed at accelerating infrastructure, healthcare delivery, education, security, and local economic growth across communities in the constituency.
Addressing constituents and key stakeholders, the MP reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to equitable development, stating that the 2025 and 2026 project rollouts are designed to “bring governance closer to the people and ensure that no community in Amenfi Central is left behind.”
According to Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the comprehensive package of projects reflects her pledge to prioritize critical social interventions and expand opportunities for residents across the constituency in the Western Region.
Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure
A significant portion of the MP’s development agenda focuses on healthcare delivery, particularly through the expansion and construction of Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds.
The continuation of the Ankwaso CHPS Compound project, which began in 2025, is expected to enhance primary healthcare access for residents of Ankwaso and its surrounding communities. Similarly, works will continue on the Sraha Ayiem CHPS Compound in 2026 to ensure its timely completion.
In Ankasie, the ongoing DA Primary School project will be complemented by the fresh construction of a CHPS compound, further deepening access to both education and healthcare services in the community. Additional new CHPS facilities are set for construction at Jedua Kese and Adidaase in 2026, while Hiawa’s CHPS compound project, initiated in 2025, is also progressing steadily.
In what many residents have described as a landmark intervention, the MP has announced the fresh construction of a fully equipped maternity block with a theatre at Manso Amenfi in 2026. The facility is expected to significantly improve maternal and child healthcare outcomes in the constituency.
Boosting Educational Development
Education remains central to Hon. Cudjoe’s vision for Amenfi Central. Several projects targeting basic education infrastructure are either ongoing or scheduled to commence.
The continuation of the Wuratrem DA Primary School project in 2026 and the ongoing works at Ankasie DA Primary School underscore the MP’s determination to provide safe and conducive learning environments for pupils.
New educational infrastructure projects include:
Fresh construction of Ata ne Ata DA Primary School (2026).
Construction of Agona Camp DA Kindergarten (2025).
Fresh construction of Bonsie Islamic Junior High School (2025).
Construction of Takyikrom Sompre Junction DA Kindergarten (2026).
Completion of a three-unit classroom block for Sompre JHS (2026).
Fresh construction of a six-unit primary school block at Kramokrom (2025).
Construction of a three-unit classroom block at Bantoma (2026).
“These projects are not just buildings; they are investments in the future of our children,” Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe emphasized. “Quality education infrastructure is the foundation upon which sustainable development is built.”
Enhancing Security and Public Safety
Recognizing the growing need for improved security infrastructure, the MP has also allocated resources from her MP’s Fund to establish new police stations in strategic communities.
In 2026, a new police station will be constructed at Sraha Ayiem, while another police station project is scheduled for Achichire in 2025. These facilities are expected to strengthen law enforcement presence, enhance community policing, and promote peace and order throughout the constituency.
Expanding Markets and Local Economy
Economic empowerment and local trade development are also high on the MP’s agenda. The fresh construction of a modern market at Juabo in 2026 aims to provide traders with a safe and organized commercial space.
Additionally, the construction of a 24-hour economy market at Agona Amenfi in 2025 represents a bold step toward stimulating local commerce, creating jobs, and supporting small and medium-scale enterprises in the constituency.
Hon. Cudjoe noted that modern market infrastructure would not only improve sanitation and safety standards but also unlock economic potential for women and youth engaged in trading activities.
A Vision for Inclusive Development
The 2025/2026 project portfolio demonstrates a deliberate strategy to balance healthcare, education, security, and economic growth across Amenfi Central. Community leaders have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a clear sign of responsive and people-centered leadership.
Reiterating her dedication to service, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi Central in the Western Region, assured constituents that transparency, accountability, and timely execution would remain key priorities in implementing the projects.
“Our mandate is to serve the people of Amenfi Central with integrity and purpose,” she stated. “Together, we are building stronger communities, improving livelihoods, and shaping a brighter future for generations to come.”
With construction works already underway on several projects and others scheduled to begin in phases, residents of Amenfi Central are optimistic that the coming years will mark a new chapter of accelerated development and renewed hope for the constituency.
