A statement from the communication team of Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong has condemned a report by Asase FM in Kumasi, describing it as a “flagrant deviation from journalistic ethics.”

The report in question claimed that Hon. Agyapong was denied entry into the Prempeh Assembly Hall, where the Council of State elections were taking place.

However, the communication team asserts that this is entirely false. They state that Hon. Agyapong was not only allowed entry but also exchanged pleasantries with dignitaries, including Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Appiah Stadium. Despite invitations to enter the Assembly Hall, Hon. Agyapong chose to remain outside and departed to attend to other business.

The communication team demands an immediate retraction of the report and an unreserved apology. They emphasize that the report’s inaccuracy is not only misleading but also injurious to Hon. Agyapong’s reputation.

If the report is not rectified, the team warns that they will pursue legal action to uphold responsible journalism and the truth.

This incident highlights the importance of accurate reporting and the need for journalists to adhere to ethical standards.

Filing false reports can have serious consequences, including damage to reputations and legal repercussions
