Kotoko Vs Hearts: All You Need To Know

1,022

The Ghana Premier League is getting more heated and we are gradually coming to its end. At the start of the season, there were a lot of predictions, expectations, and anticipations. Some teams were expected to occupy certain positions on the league log but it seems things didn’t turn out well for them. Hearts of Oak were the champions of the league last season and a lot was expected from them. Their abysmal African campaign perhaps dimmed their confidence as they recorded a lot of inconsistent results this season.

There were speculations that their coach who led them to victory in the 2020-2021 campaign would have lost his job should he have lost his match against the porcupine warriors in the first round of the competition. But Samuel Boadu’s confidence and results against Asante Kotoko is always commendable. After his apparent survival of that fixture, he said Kotoko cannot beat his junior team while he is in charge. Reports have it that the continental champions will be playing without some key players; Sulley Muntari, Salifu Ibrahim. Muntari is out of the country while Salifu might be unfit for the fixture.

Asante Kotoko will have been proving their preparedness to be crowned league champions this season by beating their archrivals in the superclass. The last time the two played, Hearts of Oak were victors that claimed a 1:0 win at the Accra Sports stadium in the President’s cup. Since his arrival, coach Prosper Ogum seems to be getting things right and has brought competition in the team. It is even unpredictable to know who starts a game and who will not. The two Cameroonian strikers, Mbella and Mfegue have been on fire at the Baba Yara stadium.

The much anticipated match has been shifted from the original scheduled time at 6:00pm to 3:00pm due to security reasons. The Ghana Premier League match day 24 will witness drama, action and activity on the Sunday, 10th April.
