The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), non-governmental organization has organized a programme on adolescent reproductive health for over hundred (100) school children in some selected communities within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly dubbed “Engage Adolescent Boys As Champions For Girls Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
The programme was done under the theme “Recruit and engage adolescent boys as Champion to Support and Advocate For Adolescent Girls Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)”.
The event which took place at Krofrom Community Library was attended by DOVVSU representative, Ghana police service and pupils from Krofrom, Buokrom, Bantama, Dakodwom and Tafo.
Speaking to Madam Priscilla Adjei Adubea, the field officer for PPAG, she disseminate the activities involved in the programme, saying the participants were thought on decision making techniques and communication, gender violence, the implications of early sex and teenage pregnancy, they should say no to pre-marital sex and techniques of wearing condoms.
Some of the students who had the opportunity to be equipped with knowledge concerning adolescent health spoke to Sikka News reporter Kwabena Antwi Bosiako saying they have been enlightened and will apply the knowledge being learn in all their activities.
