Among the notable comers are Kumasi Senior High Technical School, located at Patase in the Ashanti Region, Wesley Girls’ SHS, who, after eight years, commenced their journey at the regional stage before advancing to the preliminaries.
Mpraeso SHS also made a mark by prevailing over Ghana National in a revenge match.
In a remarkable comeback, Achimota School, which suffered defeat at the hands of St. Augustine’s in the preceding year, demonstrated their resilience.
Furthermore, Wesley Grammar School and St. Louis Girls’ caused quite a stir by surpassing last year’s finalist, Adisadel College.
St. John’s School, Yilo Krobo SHS, and G.S.T.S. also secured their places, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.
Meanwhile, reigning champions Presec Legon and the 2022 first runners-up, Prempeh College, successfully retained their positions as seeded schools.
Keta SHTS, finalists in 2021, showcased their prowess by clinching victory in their one-eighth contest with an impressive score of 70 points — marking the highest score achieved in the competition thus far.
The quarterfinal matches are slated to unfold from Sunday, October 15 to October 17, promising intense competition. Only nine schools will ultimately advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for October 19.
