Kumawu DCE,MP ,Nananom Plant Over 25,000 Trees To Green Ghana

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Kumawu in the Ashanti region.Hon.Samuel Addai Agyekum last Friday joined Hon.Ernest Yaw Anim,the Member of Parliament(MP) for the area, and Nananom to plant over Twenty-five thousand(25,000) Trees in the District.

They were also joined by Kumawu Forest Division, Wildlife division staff, selected Students from TKSHS, Ghana Health Service Staff as well as workers of Kumawu District hospital project which is almost completed to embark on the exercise.

Hon.Samuel Addai Agyekum revealed that, the District was given a target of 25,000 trees to plant and the exercise went on successfully with the support of all stakeholders.

According to him,the Exercise forms part of Nana Addo led administration commitment to restore the fast depleting Forest with an initiative of Green Ghana Day by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to encourage all Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of tree planting.“Please let’s all continue to support Ghana Green Day Initiative”,he pleaded.

The DCE commended Hon.Ernest Yaw Anim, traditional rulers in the area,Chairman Agyemang Prempeh,the NPP constituency chairman among other stakeholders for participating in the exercise.

He encouraged all residents in the area to contribute their quota to help nurture the trees and protect them for the benefit of all.
