The Chief of Heman, Nana Apau Wiafe Ababio Sanwoansan has exerted pressure on Hon. Christian Adu Poku- DCE for Afigya Kwabre South, demanding reasons for the delayed fixing of the dilapidated road in his community.
JOSHOB has been contracted for the construction and is on site, systematically resurfacing some of the bad roads (Heman inclusive) within the district.
However, the Chief has pointed out that his appears abandoned, explaining that the contractor after grading few portion of the road has not returned to complete the construction.
A stretch of road before his palace is in a sorry state and its dusty nature has made living in the area uncomfortable for residents.
At his palace on Friday 19th January, 2024, the Chief put to the DCE, the number of people knocked down by vehicles in the community due to the bad nature of the road.
He mentioned that last year, 6 deaths were recorded and 3 for this year aside injuries.
Among the deceased include a nurse and a doctor.
Still in his agitation, the Chief indicated that inhalation of the dust by residents has exposed the aged in the community to respiratory diseases.
Responding to the above, the DCE cleared that the Heman road has not been abandoned by the contractor.
The government official announced that the contractor is on site working, assuring that Heman road will be asphalted and completed between February and March this year.
Addressing the media, Hon. Christian Adu-Poku called on residents of the community to exercise patience.
He promised to ensure that all ongoing projects are executed well to the benefit of the community.
