Dr. Stephen Amoah, the Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso in the Ashanti Region, has made a passionate appeal to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, led by Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi , to assist in reclaiming a school land belonging to the State Experimental School at Nhyiaeso.

The land in question was allegedly sold to a developer by the previous NPP government under the guise of rezoning.

Dr. Amoah expressed his concerns over the sale of the school land, questioning the rationale behind the NPP government’s decision to dispose of land meant for educational purposes.

He described the action as “wicked” and lamented that despite his efforts to halt the sale, no positive outcome was achieved.

During the commissioning of a new 33-unit classroom block for the State Experimental School at Nhyiaeso, Dr. Amoah made a heartfelt appeal to the Kumasi Mayor to intervene in the matter.

He requested the Assembly’s assistance in reclaiming the school land, which is essential for school extension projects and other developmental agendas.

The MP emphasized the significance of the school land, highlighting its potential for future development and expansion of the school. He stressed that the land is crucial for the school’s growth and that its loss would be detrimental to the educational institution.

Dr. Amoah’s appeal to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly underscores the importance of collaboration between government agencies and local authorities in promoting development and protecting public interests. The Assembly’s intervention in this matter could help resolve the issue and ensure that the school land is utilized for its intended purpose.

The sale of school land to a developer has sparked concerns about the government’s priorities and commitment to education. Dr. Amoah’s appeal to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly highlights the need for collective action to protect public assets and promote development. It remains to be seen how the Assembly will respond to the MP’s plea and whether the school land will be reclaimed for the benefit of the State Experimental School at Nhyiaeso.
