Let’s Make Kumasi Clean-Sam Pyne Appeals

The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon Samuel Pyne has appealed to Christians and residents in the Kumasi Metropolis to support the Assembly in ridding the City of filth and all insanitary conditions.

He noted that residents could make their immediate surroundings clean and reduce the burden on City authorities.

Speaking at three churches including the Dichemso branch of the Assemblies of God Church and Bantama branch of the Church of Pentecost during their 31st watch night services, Hon Pyne said collectively residents could join the KMA to make the City the cleanest if they see sanitation as personal responsibility.

“As we look to have a good year in 2023, I will appeal to church members and residents of Kumasi to join the KMA in its effort of cleaning the City and tackling insanitary conditions”, the Mayor stressed.

TAXES:
Hon Pyne asked the public to rise to their civic responsibilities and pay their taxes and tolls timeously and diligently.

These taxes, he intimated are used to develop the country and tackle challenges confronting same.

Hon Pyne said no country could develop without the support from its citizens, adding that one way to doing that was by they paying of taxes on earnings they make from their jobs.

“I  believe we can best grow as a country when citizens decide to pay their taxes dutifully so that government would have funds to carry out projects and initiatives for the benefit of the people”, the Kumasi Mayor posited.

GOVERNMENT COMMITMENT:
The Kumasi Mayor expressed the government’s commitment to developing the country from the resources it generates from within and from exports.

He noted that the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was doing everything to make Ghanaians especially the youth have access to jobs and employment opportunities.

These, he noted include the models the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) was introducing, the Youstart Programme as well as the One District One Factory policy.

“Nana Addo believes in empowering the youth as well as every Ghanaian through good job opportunities so that collectively we could contribute our quotas to the development of the country”, Hon Pyne reiterated.
