The Ghanaians electorates urged to join hands to vote the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) out of government to rescue the country from the current economic hardship.
Mr Gbenya Precious, a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Communication team made the call, when speaking to the media in Kumasi.
According to him, the economic hardship Ghanaians have being going through is faced significantly affecting and worsening the ordinary Ghanaian daily lives because of the rising cost of living and a lack of opportunities for the youth. He disclosed that the youth unemployment with the uncountable taxes on businesses is leading to widespread dissatisfaction and a call for change.
Mr Agbenya is of the view that as we approaches the upcoming general election, the stark contrast in the commitment of political leaders to engage with the populace is evident.
He noted that Ghanaians have seen former President John Dramani Mahama (JM) actively involving his family and the next generation in his campaign, and the participation of of his biological Children Shafik and Sharaf including Samuel Kofi Atta Mills, the son of the late President Mills, Kimathi the son of late Jerry John Rawlings, and Dr. Kwabena, the son of JM’s running mate, Prof. Jane Opoku Agyemang, signals a deep-rooted connection to the concerns of everyday Ghanaians.
According to him, their involvement reflects a commitment to not only seek votes but to engage with the future of the nation.
He stressed that in the contrast, the current leadership, represented by Vice President Dr Mahammud Bawumia and President Akufo-Addo, appears detached, alleged that it is reported that their children are out of the shore of the country and been sent abroad raise, which he said raises questions about their investment in the future of Ghana.
He stated that Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh aka (NAPO) Child is nowhere to be found in their campaign and questioned who are they truly fighting for.
He emphasized that the NDC under the leadership of John Mahama stresses a vision for a better Ghana, where the voices of the youth are heard and valued. He said this is a crucial time when young people are struggling to find jobs and secure a stable future, as the NDC determined to creating an inclusive atmosphere where every Ghanaian can thrive.
Mr Agbenya charged the youth that it’s essential to choose a leader who demonstrates genuine commitment to the people.
He disclosed that John Mahama’s engagement with the youth and his family’s actively participation in the campaign showcase a vision rooted in hope and collaboration, and tasked Ghanaians that voting for John Mahama and the NDC reaffirmed their choice for a candidate who prioritizes their struggles and aspirations.
He urged Ghanaians to be united towards the elections in this trying times and make a choice that reflects our collective desire for change and progress and vote John Dramani Mahama to lead Ghana toward a brighter and more inclusive future.
