Residents of Mankranso in the Ahafo Ano South West District can finally breathe a sigh of relief following decisive intervention by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Abubakard Sedik, to address persistent power outages that have plagued the area in recent weeks.

The DCE, demonstrating proactive leadership and commitment to improving living conditions in the district, engaged the Ashanti West Regional Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ing. George Amoah, in high-level discussions aimed at resolving the situation.

The meeting, which focused on identifying the root causes of the outages and implementing immediate solutions, has already yielded positive results. As part of the intervention, a faulty transformer at Mankranso Zongo—one of the worst affected communities—has been successfully replaced, leading to the restoration of electricity supply to residents and businesses in the area.
According to Hon. Sedik, the swift response from ECG underscores the importance of collaboration between local government authorities and key service providers. He noted that access to reliable electricity remains critical for economic activities, healthcare delivery, education, and overall community development.
In addition to the progress made at Mankranso Zongo, the DCE announced that efforts are underway to resolve similar challenges in other parts of the district. He disclosed that the transformer serving the Mansec area is scheduled to be restored by tomorrow, a move expected to bring further relief to affected residents.
“The well-being of our people remains our top priority. We will continue to engage relevant stakeholders to ensure that essential services are delivered efficiently and without interruption,” Hon. Sedik stated.
Residents have welcomed the intervention with enthusiasm, expressing gratitude to the DCE and ECG for their prompt action. Many described the restoration of power as a significant relief, particularly for small businesses that rely heavily on electricity for their operations.
The successful resolution of the power crisis highlights the impact of responsive leadership and effective stakeholder engagement in addressing community challenges. It also reinforces the DCE’s commitment to fostering development and improving the quality of life for residents across the Ahafo Ano South West District.

Hon. Abubakard Sedik emphasized that the district assembly will continue to monitor the situation closely to prevent future occurrences, assuring constituents that no effort will be spared in ensuring stable and reliable power supply.

“Together, we share success,” he affirmed, reiterating his administration’s dedication to inclusive development and responsive governance.
