In a significant boost to ongoing rural infrastructure development in the Amenfi West Constituency, Comrade Louis Nuhu Toppoh, popularly known as Chairman 2026 and an aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman, has donated fuel worth GH¢20,000 to support the operations of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) machines in the area.

The timely donation, presented to the authorities coordinating the DRIP machinery, is aimed at ensuring the continuous operation of road construction and reshaping equipment currently working on feeder roads across Prestea -Nkwanta,Toronpan,Mumuni and Woman no good electoral areas, all in the constituency.

The intervention is expected to enhance road accessibility, improve transportation, and directly support the livelihoods of residents, particularly farmers.

Speaking during the presentation, Comrade Toppoh explained that Amenfi West is confronted with numerous dilapidated feeder roads that link farming communities to major market centers.

According to him, the poor state of these roads has for years posed serious challenges to economic activities, especially the transportation of agricultural produce.

“Our communities depend heavily on feeder roads, yet many of them are in very bad shape,” he noted. “This support is to help fuel the DRIP machines so that they can reshape and construct these roads, making them motorable for all.

When roads are improved, farmers can transport their produce to the market with ease, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve their incomes.”

He emphasized that poor road networks often lead to farm produce getting rotten due to delays and transportation difficulties, a situation he described as unacceptable for a constituency with enormous agricultural potential.

The intervention, he said, is therefore a practical contribution toward improving food security and economic well-being in the area.

Comrade Toppoh further observed that beyond benefiting farmers, improved feeder roads will enhance mobility for residents of adjoining communities.

According to him, accessible roads will promote social interaction, improve access to healthcare and education, and reduce the daily hardships faced by residents, particularly during the rainy season.

“The construction and reshaping of these roads will make movement easier for everyone,” he added. “It will remove unnecessary barriers to development and bring communities closer together.”

In addition to addressing local development concerns, Comrade Toppoh used the occasion to commend President John Dramani Mahama for policies he said are easing the burden on Ghanaians.

He particularly applauded the reduction in fuel prices, describing it as a relief that has contributed to making life more comfortable for ordinary citizens and supporting initiatives such as road construction and agricultural activities.

He also took the opportunity to appeal to the general public to maintain confidence in the NDC, urging citizens to continue to support the party’s development agenda.

According to him, the NDC remains committed to the welfare of Ghanaians and has consistently demonstrated that it places the interests of the people at the center of governance.

“The NDC is a party that truly has Ghanaians at heart,” he stated. “I encourage everyone to keep faith in the government and support initiatives that bring development directly to our communities.”

Residents and local stakeholders have welcomed the donation, describing it as a practical and timely intervention that will accelerate road works in the constituency. Many expressed optimism that sustained support for DRIP operations will lead to long-term improvements in road infrastructure and overall socio-economic development in Amenfi West.

The gesture by Comrade Louis Nuhu Toppoh underscores the growing role of local political actors in complementing government efforts to deliver grassroots development, particularly in rural and farming communities across the country.
