Flagbearer for the United Front Party (UFP) Nana Agyenim Boateng says he is highly upset over why a higher percentage of journalists in Kumasi have proven weak in exerting pressure on the NPP led government to put up more developmental projects in the region.

Litany of manifesto promises made by the latter including the construction Boankra Inland port, interchanges on some major roads within the city among others have not been realized and yet journalists in Kumasi have not done much to wake the NPP government from slumber.

Addressing the media in Kumasi on Monday 3rd January 2022, he contrasted that Accra journalists unlike those in Kumasi are far better when it comes to fighting for the progress of the region within which they work “and that is what has made Accra what it is today”.

Considering the number of hospital projects in Ashanti region which were started by John Mahama but have been abandoned by the NPP, the poor state of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, absence of street lights on several roads, level of insecurity, etc, “gyataba” challenged that Kumasi media should let the NPPs know that they cannot take the region for granted.

“If Asanteman develops, all journalists in Kumasi will stand as beneficiaries”, he admonished.
