In a significant move to bolster education in the Amenfi Central Constituency of Ghana’s Western Region, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the Member of Parliament for the area, yesterday held a pivotal teachers’ engagement with educators from 180 schools.
Out of the expected 180 schools, 88 were present.

The interaction aimed to gather insights, identify challenges, and chart a path forward to improve the quality of teaching and learning within the constituency.
The engagement with teachers underscores Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe’s commitment to understanding the on-the-ground realities faced by educators in Amenfi Central.
By soliciting ideas and challenges from teachers themselves, the MP demonstrated a collaborative approach towards addressing educational needs and fostering improvements.
Discussions centered around strategies to enhance pedagogical effectiveness, tackle infrastructural gaps, and support teacher welfare – critical elements in elevating educational outcomes.
As part of her initiative to promote holistic development in schools, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe presented 400 jerseys, 400 footballs and 50 trophies to the 180 schools in the Amenfi Central Constituency.

This gesture is expected to encourage sports participation among students, promote physical fitness, and nurture talents.

Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe has consistently demonstrated her dedication to improving education in Amenfi Central. She has employed 35 community teachers to support 28 basic schools, addressing teacher shortages in rural areas. Her Teacher Initiative covers 34 basic schools, benefiting 8,391 students and 134 community teachers, with a monthly investment of GHS 466,760 in teacher salaries .
