Leading telecommunications giant MTN Ghana has once again demonstrated its commitment to community support and religious harmony by donating GH¢10,000, a ram, and assorted food items to the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam in Kumasi as part of its annual Ramadan outreach initiative.
The donation, presented ahead of the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, is aimed at supporting the Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan a period marked by fasting, prayer, and acts of charity.
It also underscores MTN Ghana’s broader mission of fostering strong relationships with its diverse customer base while promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among religious groups.
Presenting the items on behalf of the company, Mr. Simon Amoh, Senior Manager for MTN Northern Sector, highlighted the significance of the gesture, noting that the initiative forms part of MTN’s longstanding tradition of giving back to society.
“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do,” Mr. Amoh stated. “This donation is not only to support the Muslim community during this sacred period but also to reaffirm our commitment to standing with our customers in moments that matter most to them.”
He further emphasized that MTN Ghana recognizes the importance of inclusivity and respect for cultural and religious diversity, adding that such interventions help deepen bonds between the company and the communities it serves.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Ustaz Ahmed Seidu, Executive Secretary at the Imam’s Office, expressed profound appreciation to MTN Ghana for its unwavering support over the years.
“We are very grateful to MTN Ghana for this kind gesture,” Ustaz Seidu remarked.
“Their continuous support during Ramadan has been consistent, and it brings relief and joy to many within the Muslim community. We are always assured of their generosity and partnership.”
He noted that the items would go a long way in supporting the less privileged, particularly as the community prepares to mark Eid-ul-Fitr, a time of celebration and sharing with family and the needy.
The annual Ramadan donation by MTN Ghana has become a hallmark of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts, reflecting its dedication to not only providing telecommunications services but also contributing meaningfully to social development and community wellbeing.
As the holy month draws to a close, the gesture stands as a reminder of the power of corporate compassion and the enduring value of unity, generosity, and shared humanity across Ghana’s diverse society.
