Muslims in Ghana Rejoice as President Mahama Slashes Hajj Costs

The Association of Liberal Muslims-Ghana is commending President John Dramani Mahama for fulfilling his campaign promise to reduce the exorbitant cost of Hajj for Muslims in Ghana.

This move is a significant relief for numerous individuals and families who have been struggling to fulfill their spiritual obligations due to the high costs.

The association praises President Mahama’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of Muslims in Ghana, making Hajj more accessible and affordable for all.

This initiative demonstrates the government’s dedication to supporting the spiritual growth and development of Muslims in Ghana .

President Mahama had previously stated that he would reduce the cost of Hajj, which had risen to GH¢75,000, making it difficult for ordinary Muslims to afford. He emphasized that during his previous tenure, Hajj fares were more affordable, at GH¢11,900 .
