The entire Ashanti Regional Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party has congratulated Hon Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO),Minister for Energy and MP for Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region for his well-deserved award at the just ended 2022 civil service awards.
Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh had the honour of receiving an ‘Office of the Head of Civil Service’ award in “recognition of his outstanding leadership and support for reform initiative in the civil service “.
For us at the Ashanti Regional Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party join many out there to celebrate the honourable minister for this enviable achievement though, this recognition doesn’t come to us as a surprise due his several recognitions in years past. He has demonstrated to the ghanaian people on timeless occasions that he has all that is required of a leader in the public sector.
In the year 2020, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh before moving to the energy ministry was selected as recipient of the prestigious Havard Ministerial Medal of Achievement in recognition of his work as Minister for Education from 2017-2020 towards strengthening public education in Ghana.
His leadership role as sector minister towards the implementation of the Free SHS Program, management of the double-track system, payment of teacher, massive infrastructural development in the education sector and cooperation with the leadership of the various teacher unions and other associations under the education ministry was highly commended not only by the ghanaian people but, many around the world. His achievements as former Education Minister are unprecedented and will go down in the history books of our dear nation, Ghana as one that shall be unforgettable.
Right after he was moved to the Energy Ministry in the year 2021 by the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, in the same year(2021), was adjudged the best performing minister by the Africa Public Sector Conference and Awards.
Last year, 2022 he was once again adjudged the best performing minister by the Ghana Leadership Awards. NAPO as many passionately and preferably call him, after assuming office as the Energy Minister, together with his team at the ministry within this short period, have transformed the sector through innovations, sustained power and make sure “Dumsor” is a thing of the past. This amazing accomplishment is just one step on your journey, NAPO. Your ability to relentlessly search for solutions to problems and find innovative ways to improve situations is well emulating.
