Augustus Andrews Nana Kwasi, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaians, particularly those in the Ashanti Region, for the party’s resounding victory in the 2024 elections.

In a statement marking one year since the NDC and President Mahama’s victory, Nana Kwasi acknowledged the crucial role played by the people in the party’s success.

“Without the people, NDC would have still be in opposition,” he said, emphasizing that the party’s victory was a result of the people’s trust and support. Nana Kwasi praised President Mahama’s commitment to development, highlighting the progress made in the Ashanti Region and the country as a whole.

The NDC Ashanti Regional Chairman specifically mentioned the President’s plans to complete the phase II of the Kejetia market project and the Krofrom market. He also noted that President Mahama is working closely with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to construct 24hr economy markets to serve various districts.

Nana Kwasi commended the MMDCEs for their tireless efforts in ensuring the President’s vision is realized.

He expressed gratitude to Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, chiefs, clergy, and all stakeholders who contributed to the NDC’s victory.

In a festive spirit, Nana Kwasi appealed to traders to reduce prices of goods during the festive season, citing the government’s efforts to stabilize the cedi against the dollar. “The President and his finance minister have done well by appreciating the cedi to the dollar, so prices of goods must be reduced to ensure that citizens benefit from the good work of the government,” he said.

The NDC Ashanti Regional Chairman’s statement reflects the party’s commitment to continued development and its appreciation for the trust reposed in them by the people.
