National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia,has paid a solemn visit to the family of the late Dr. Samuel Sarpong, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash from Accra to Obuasi.
The emotional moment turned poignant when Chairman Asiedu Nketia broke down in tears, overcome with grief, as he narrated the circumstances surrounding Dr. Sarpong’s untimely demise.
According to Chairman Asiedu Nketia, Dr. Sarpong had been slated to represent him at a program in Obuasi and had just received his appointment as Board Chairman for Cocoa Processing Company on Wednesday morning before the fatal accident.
The NDC Chairman revealed that Dr. Sarpong’s dedication to the party was unwavering, and his loss is deeply felt.
The emotional outpouring from Chairman Asiedu Nketia was contagious, causing other party executives present to break down in tears.
Despite the overwhelming grief, Asiedu Nketia urged Dr. Sarpong’s family in Juaben to find solace during this difficult time and prayed for God’s mercy to be upon them.
The condolence visit was attended by notable figures, including Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional NDC party executives, and other Municipal, Metropolitan, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the region.
The NDC’s show of solidarity and support for the bereaved family underscores the party’s commitment to standing with its members in times of sorrow.
