The Head of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, has exposed NPP sympathizer’s false claim on chalk supply.
In a recent appearance on the popular “Good Morning Ghana” show on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe, categorically refuted a misleading statement made by the flagbearer of the National Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Bawumia.
Dr. Bawumia had erroneously claimed that schools lacked chalk during the Mahama-led administration, a statement that has been widely circulated and believed by many.
However, lawyer Edudzi Tameklo presented concrete evidence from the Ghana Education Service (GES) that contradicts Dr. Bawumia’s claim. According to GES, a sufficient supply of chalk was available for distribution to schools nationwide, with thousands of boxes allocated to educational directorates across the country. Specifically, the Eastern Region received 82,391 boxes of chalk as far back as March this year, debunking the notion that schools lacked this essential educational material.
Tamakloe emphasized that schools, including Kukurantumi, had access to this supply and should not blame the government for any shortages. He stressed that the NDC is committed to fact-based discourse and will not stand idly by while misinformation is spread. This revelation exposes Dr. Bawumia’s claim as a blatant lie and highlights the importance of verifying information before spreading it.
The NDC’s commitment to transparency and accountability is evident in their willingness to correct false narratives and provide accurate information to the public. This incident serves as a reminder to political actors and citizens alike to prioritize truth and accuracy in public discourse.
