Dr Ebenezer Ekwaw Aidoo, the NDC parliamentary candidate for Asante Akim Central in the Ashanti Region is saddened about the lack of tertiary institutions in the Constituency.
According to him, a sister constituency like Asante Akim North has all the needed educational facilities being it basic, secondary and tertiary but the situation is different when it comes to the Central.
He was not happy as to why students should be deprived of their right and privilege to tertiary education.
He has however promised to help restore what he described as the lost glory of the Asante Akim Central Constituency in the Ashanti Region if he wins election 2024.
Speaking to Chiefs and Imams in Konongo , the constituency capital, Dr Aidoo, affectionately called , outlined development, wealth creation, and reviving the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Constituency as part of his primary objectives.
He said if voted into office as the next MP, he will see to the establishment of nursing training college and other equally important tertiary institutions to accommodate students to realize their potentials.
He again promised to create Asante Akim Central Development Fund , the fund he said would cater for the development of the constituency with the help of traditional leaders.
With his doctoring background, and being a problem-solver, Dr Aidoo said he has assessed the Constituency where he was nurtured, hence designed a comprehensive plan to guide its development.
He said he would prioritize economic independence among others to restore the hope of constituents as the first NDC MP for the area.
“I stand for growth, I stand for development, I stand for diversity and inclusion, leading a team of people that will be inspired, a team of people that will be economically independent. I want to represent my people in Parliament so that after four years, the glory of Asante Akim Central will come back, a full representation that will give value. I want to lead a way of change that will bring the life of Asante Akim Central back to development”, he said.
