Musah Danquah, Executive Director for Global Infoanalystics has said that about 48% of Ghanaians prefer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia ,NPP 2024 Presidential candidate to lead again in the 2028 general elections because he is a weak candidate.
According to him out of the 48% , 20% are NDC supporters who think Dr Bawumia is a weaker candidate as compared to Hon Kennedy Agyepong so for Dr Bawumia to lead the NPP again, it would be an easy contest for the NDC in election 2028.
He said a survey they conducted revealed that in the Akan speaking communities, most of the people who are NDC prefer Dr Bawumia to Hon Kennedy Agyepong, this he said suggest that Dr Bawumia’s candidacy will surely retain the NPP in opposition in election 2028.
Speaking on a live TV show, the executive director told the host that for an opponent to propose a candidate for a political party it clearly shows such candidate is weak and want to capitalize on him or her.
Hon Kennedy Agyapong, a key figure in Ghana’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former presidential aspirant, is set to contest the party’s flagbearer race ahead of the 2028 general elections.
His decision was confirmed by his brother, Ralph Agyapong, during an interview with Kings Jersey TV in the United States on March 15, 2025.
Ralph noted that shifting internal dynamics within the NPP now favor Kennedy Agyapong’s candidacy, positioning him strategically for the upcoming primaries.
“I can tell you on authority that he will contest the presidency or the NPP primaries, hopefully, next year, because we might have an early congress. He will be on the ballot paper,” Ralph Agyapong stated.”He indicated.
