The Afigya Kwabre South NDC Grassroots members in the Ashanti Region have issued a stern warning to President John Dramani Mahama, threatening to boycott any appointment for Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) if their preferred candidate, Vivian Nuzagra Nuzal, is not selected.
Addressing the press at Maase today, Nana Adu Kwame , branch chairman of Hemang D/A indicated that,Madam Nuzal, the former NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Afigya Kwabre South constituency, has garnered support from the grassroots members who believe her competence and expertise make her the ideal candidate for the position.
As the former PC for the area, she has consistently increased votes in the Constituency which they believe can he build the future of the party in the area.
The NDC Grassroots members are convinced that Nuzal’s leadership would be a step in the right direction for the district, driving development and effectively addressing community needs.
They emphasize that her appointment would ensure effective representation and leadership in local governance, which is crucial for promoting credible political decentralization and engendering political accountability.
The group’s threat to boycott the appointment process is a clear indication of their determination to see Madam Nuzal appointed as MCE.
If their demands are not met, they have warned of potential consequences, including protests and disruptions.
In a similar vein, some NDC grassroots members have previously threatened to burn down the Kodie District Assembly if their demands are not met, highlighting the depth of feeling among supporters .
