NPP gov’t is a confused one -John Mahama

Former President of the Republic,Mr.John Dramani Mahama has made mockery of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, describing them as a confused government that is not consistent in policy making.

According to him, the party can not boast of competent appointees to bring out policies that could improve the socioeconomic development of the citizens in the country.

He made it clear that, NPP as a political party does not deserve to govern the Country because the party is not credible and Ghanaians cannot rely on them.

Speaking to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) branches and constituency executives as part of it campaign tour at Nhyiaeso in the Ashanti Region towards the party’s upcoming flagbearership congress, he indicated that, the NPP government under Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo leadership has been inconsistent in terms of rolling out policies since 2017.

The former President made mentioned of the luxury tax, the electronic Levy (E-levy) International Monetary Fund (IMF) Agyapa deal, and the latest reintroduction of the road toll policy after the government through the minister of roads and high way cancelled for no reason.

Mr Mahama however argued about Ghana’s economic situation today.

According to him, the government now has decided to bring back the road toll policy on our roads, the decision he said the country would not go back.

He was of the view that, Ghanaians are no longer surprise with the government’s incompetence and inconsistencies since being in government for over six years.

He addressed that, the NPP government is paying the price of their arrogance and their refusal to make a broad consultations with stakeholders on policy making.

He disclosed that, abysmal performance on the NPP government as a result of arrogance in touting themselves as best managers of the economy on the face of the economic hardship from every sector of the economy.

He said the most unfortunate attitude of the executive is that, they never accepted any responsible and continue blaming our internal challenges to external problems.

He stressed that, a responsible government accepts responsibility and seek for a dialogue or consult stakeholders to resolve challenges, which he said the NPP government is not ready to do, because whatever they said about the previous NDC government is hunting them.
