The District Chief Executive for Offinso North, Hon. Caesar Acheampong, has launched a road reshaping initiative aimed at improving the district’s road network.
The project, which is currently underway, involves reshaping a dilapidated road from Kobreso to Mantukwa, a key route that has been in disrepair for years.
According to Hon. Acheampong, the initiative is part of his vision to make all roads in the district accessible to all, thereby facilitating the transportation of goods and services, including foodstuffs, to markets and other destinations. He lamented that the poor state of the roads had led to foodstuffs getting rotten, resulting in losses to farmers and traders.
“As a district, we recognize the importance of good roads in facilitating economic activity and improving the lives of our people,” Hon. Acheampong said. “We cannot continue to sit back and watch as our roads become impassable, causing hardship to our farmers and traders. It is our responsibility to ensure that our roads are in good condition, and that is what we are working towards.”
The road reshaping initiative is expected to benefit the people of Kobreso, Mantukwa, and surrounding communities, who have long suffered the consequences of poor road infrastructure. The improved road network is expected to facilitate the transportation of foodstuffs, including cocoa, maize, and yam, to markets in the district and beyond.
Hon. Acheampong assured the people of Offinso North that his administration is committed to improving the district’s road network, and that the Kobreso-Mantuwa road is just the beginning. “We have a comprehensive plan to reshape all roads in the district, and we are working tirelessly to ensure that every corner of our district is accessible,” he said.
The people of Offinso North have welcomed the initiative, expressing their gratitude to Hon. Acheampong for his commitment to improving their lives. “This is a welcome development, and we are grateful to the DCE for his vision and dedication to our district,” said a local farmer. “We hope that this initiative will be the beginning of a new era of development in our district.”
The road reshaping initiative is part of the Offinso North District Assembly’s efforts to promote economic growth and development in the district. The assembly has also been involved in various development projects, including the provision of educational and healthcare facilities, and the promotion of agriculture and tourism.
The people of Offinso North are optimistic that the initiative will bring about positive change and improve their quality of life. As Hon. Acheampong said, “Together, we can make a difference, and I am confident that with the support of the people, we will make Offinso North a better place for all.”
