Members of the Concerned Youth of Oforikrom in the Ashanti region has hit the street to demonstrate against the Member of Parliament,Dr.Emmanuel Marfo and the Municipal Chief Executive for the area,Hon. Abraham Kwame Antwi
over the lack of development.

The protestors were clad in red attire and held placards with inscriptions such as “Dr Emmanuel Marfo is mumu in parliament, resign now!!”, “Resign now!! Oforikrom MCE”, “Clueless gov’t and useless MP, resign now!!”, “No development, no vote”, “Our lives in danger, fix Susuankyi bridge”.

They described their Member of Parliament, Dr Emmanuel Marfo as “useless” and “mumu” in parliament and said the MP and the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Abraham Kwame Antwi have done little to help fix their deplorable road networks.

Addressing the media, the Convener of the group, Mr Jerry James Sukah mentioned some of the poor road networks as Susanso-Ahinsan East road, Alonga Akosuaku-Alafia road, Topper-Alafia road, Emena-Appiadu-Kokoben road leading to the MP’s residence.

He also complained about the shoddy work ongoing on the bridge that connects Alonga and Susuankyi communities that had earlier claimed many lives.

Mr Jerry said the contractor did not dredge the drain before erecting the pillars while expressing fears that the bridge would be a death trap and pose danger to their lives when completed.

He, therefore, called on the MP and the MCE to resign if they cannot help develop the area while calling on the government to fix their roads and develop the area.
