The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for Asokwa Constituency in the Ashanti region, Rev Benjamin Ofosu Nkrumah, has said the Member of Parliament for the area is “weak” and always “sleeps in parliament” and thus wants her to be voted out.

He said the MP, Hon Patricia Appiagyei, is unfit to lead the party to the December 7, 2024, general elections, and for that reason, the party needs fresh blood to maintain the seat in the December polls.

The constituency Chairman who expressed surprise why Mrs Appiagyei is contesting in the parliamentary primaries again noted that the MP earlier declared her intention not to contest the seat.

Rev Nkrumah said in an interview that the MP who is contesting the seat for the fourth time has not helped the constituency in terms of development and does not deserve to represent them again.

The Chairman has, therefore, declared his support for a Medical Doctor, Dr Nana Yaw Boakye, who is contesting the seat for the first time after he failed to secure nomination form in 2020 during the parliamentary primaries.

He said Dr Boakye has shown commitment to helping the constituency to see qualitative change and for that reason, called on delegates to vote for him to represent the party.
