Sekyere Kumawu District in the Ashanti region has today held it’s Job Fair Program for any Ghanaian – living in or outside the country looking for new opportunities for their business, careers, or simply to enhance their employability.
The Ghana Job Fair is an initiative of the Ghanaian-German Centre for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration (GGC) aimed at contributing to the Government of Ghana’s efforts to improve youth employment and to develop soft skills and entrepreneurship skills, especially among the youth.
The Ghana Job Fair is organised in partnership with the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR). The GGC and the MELR have so far organised four job and career fairs, with the 2021 edition being a hybrid event because of the corona pandemic.
Speaking at the event,Mr.Samuel Addai Agyekum,DCE of the area indicated that,the NPP government one million job creation is private sector led and the innovation and entrepreneurship are the anchor.
Mr.Addai Agyekum as President representative in the area sees it as an opportunity together with the Assembly to help support talents and entrepreneurs within the district to create jobs for the youth.
‘Our doors are widely open to help such people with skills and talents. Evidence is the eco bag that make use with used sachets water to make school bags and other forms.
We will partner the youth who are in agric namely animal rearing, farming and anything that will promote Sanitation and healthy environment.
I believe in the SDGs and clean environment and job creation are inseparable. Therefore let’s create a unique world where peace and tolerance will flourish in order to attract both international and domestic investors in the Sekyere Kumawu District’.He concluded.
