SHE Achieve Afrika, Bosomtwi MP  Create Employment For Bosomtwi Youth

One hundred youth in the Bosomtwi district of the Ashanti region are benefiting from skills development programmes to reduce the unemployment situation in the area.

The youth are being empowered with startup equipment, skills training and seed capital to start their businesses and satisfy other needs.

The project is an initiative under the BOSOMTWE ONE STOP DEVELOPMENT CENTRE and SHE ACHIEVE AFRIKA, with support from the Member of Parliament of the area, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Plan International.

The MP who doubles as the Minister of Education emphasized the need for solutions tailored to suit the challenges confronting people.

Dr Adutwum also observed the critical importance for the district assembly to collaborate with the social welfare and like-minded agencies to identify challenges in the Bosomtwe Constituency and solve them.

He said this when boxes of Hairdryers, hand driers, Sewing machines, and other saloon and tailoring equipment were presented to 15 persons either to start or enhance their businesses.

Other beneficiaries of the project are being supported to get enrolled into the Immigration Service, Nursing and Teacher Training Colleges to achieve their dreams.

Executive Director, Barbara Arthur Nkrumah, said a seed amount of 10, 000 Ghana Cedis has been set aside to support the startups.

“It is important to empower the youth and alleviate poverty in the Bosomtwe area”.

The project has been empowering the youth, especially the girl child in the Bosomtwe District.
