PETITION FOR THE REMOVAL FROM OFFICE OF NANA AKOSUA FRIMPONGMAA SARPONG KUMANKUMAH, CHAIRPERSON AND LEADER OF CPP
The Convention People’s Party (C.P.P) remains the only positive alternative to the duopoly in Ghanaian politics but however the party has bedevilled with autocratic leadership and short sightedness from the chairperson and leader of the party.
In short the primary source of Leadership crisis in the party is the Chairperson’s autocratic leadership style, buttressed by her blatant disregard of elected leadership opinion in favour of her own faction of preferred non-elected advisors who run affairs. The Chairperson’s attitude is simply that she is the Chair and Leader and is the Alpha and Omega and disregards the principle of Democratic Centralism a core governance principle of the CPP.
Comrade Frimpongmaa Sarpong Kumankumah has failed woefully to unite the party and is further dividing the party with her actions and inactions.
First and foremost Comrade Friompongmaa has created her own parallel structure embarking on the Party’s reorganization program side-lining the other national executives. This action by the Chairperson and Leader will definitely not yield any gains for the party as her self-acclaimed reorganization project is not backed by the majority of officers within the Party. The Chair and Leader has also introduce her personal short code for reorganization (*920*227#) which has not been sanction by the Central Committee of the Party. To add salt to injury from my little background checks the database for her personal code isn’t within the secretariats of the Party but in her personal custody. This I believe is the highest point of indiscipline and misconduct by the highest member of Leadership who ought to know better.
The rank and file of the Party understands how ambitious and desirous Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong-Kumankumah is to become the Flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party but as party members we have the duty to ensure fairness and fair play by all and to all concerned parties. Therefore I can longer tolerate or stand unconcerned while Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong- Kumankumah and her team break the party rules under our noses and continue to try to highjack, manipulate and to take advantage of every single opportunity and everything in the party to serve her own ambitious selfish interest at the expense of the CPP.
In more recent development Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong- Kumankumah did the unthinkable by
attaching her personal picture to accredited forms for reorganization, I was initially happy
when there other eight(8) members of Leadership objected and send out a disclaimer on the forms tagged CPP NATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND CENTRAL COMMITTEE HAVE NOT APPROVED ANY REORGANISIONAL LEAFLET OR ANY NEW SHORT CODE OR NEW PHONE NUMBER’ After the release of this statement one will have thought Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong- Kumankumah will desist from using her short code and her unapproved leaflets for reorganization but unfortunately she has rather intensified the use of these unauthorized means to pursue her own personal agenda to the detriment of the party.
I respectfully move the motion on the solid grounds of misconduct, breach of party discipline and request for prompt compliance of Article 82 (d) of the CPP Constitution and I expect NEC( National Executive Council) of the party to take an unbiased stand on this misbehaviour of the Chairperson and Leader.
From my above petition is clear that Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong- Kumankumah has misconducted herself and has drug the party’s name into disrepute and needs to be removed with IMMEDIATE EFFECT by the National Executive Council.
