Members of the Survey and Maping division of the Lands Commission have been meeting
for the 2023 national retreat at Achawkrom near Kumasi to reposition themselves for Surveying and mapping in the era of digitalisation for socio-economic development.
It is also to give them further knowledge that would prepare them for land registration and surveying technologically.
In an address read for him at a short ceremony to open the five day event, the Ashanti regional Minister Hon Simon Osei Mensah implore surveyors
to find ways of embarrassing and mastering emerging technologies and redefine the entire surveying space in Ghana and across the globe.
He noted that lack of resources and manual processing of land tittle documentation has delayed the work of surveyors over the years and so the surest way to advance is to pursue land automation and digitization in Ghana.
Hon Osei Mensah lauded the Survey and mapping division for playing pivotal role in the development of lands in Ghana during the days of chaos , litigation and disputes by using LI 1444 to calm the storm and sanitised the process for cadastra preparation for land registration and.
He however expressed optimism that the division ‘s leading effort in the Survey and demarcation of Ghana’s Eastern boundary with Togo will result in the best interest of Ghana.
Meanwhile the MP for Ahafo Ano South East and chairman of the parliamentary select committee on lands and forestry Hon Francis Manu Adabor bemoaned Ghanaians to engage services of qualify surveyors in order to avoid duplication of work and for that matter wast of meager resources.
