The final funeral rites of MBA FUSEINI, a revered member of the NPP Council of Elders, should have been a solemn occasion marked by unity and respect. However, what transpired at the funeral grounds revealed a stark contrast in behavior between the NPP and NDC representatives, leaving dignitaries and attendees in disbelief.

Led by Tarkwa Nsuaem NPP Nasara Coordinator, Zakari Abubakar, a team of NPP executives attended the funeral intending to pay their respects. However, their conduct upon the arrival of the NDC delegation, led by Member of Parliament hopeful, Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor, was deeply disappointing.

Despite the bipartisan nature of the event and the presence of high-dignitary Chiefs and Imams, the NPP representatives chose to announce their donation and abruptly left the program. This act of disrespect not only tarnished the solemnity of the occasion but also showed disregard for traditional and religious leaders, as well as the family of the late MBA FUSEINI.

In stark contrast, Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate, demonstrated exemplary conduct by remaining present throughout the entire program. His commitment to honoring the memory of MBA FUSEINI and respecting the grieving family and community members was commendable.

The behavior exhibited by the NPP at the funeral not only reflects poorly on the party but also undermines the values of respect, dignity, and unity that should prevail in times of mourning. It is regrettable that political differences overshadowed the opportunity for both parties to come together in solidarity and pay their respects to a distinguished member of the community.

As we reflect on this unfortunate incident, let us reaffirm our commitment to upholding the principles of respect and unity, even in the midst of political differences. May the memory of MBA FUSEINI be honored with dignity and reverence, and may his family find solace in the support and solidarity of the entire community during this difficult time.

In the spirit of unity and respect, let us strive to mend the divisions that mar our collective grief and work towards a future where mutual understanding and cooperation prevail over partisan interests.
