Techiman North MP donates 5,300 reading, work books to schools in her constituency

Lawyer Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Techiman North Constituency, has donated 5, 300 reading books to some Senior High Schools (SHSs), Basic schools within her constituency.

Lawyer Agyare was accompanied by some of the Techiman North National Democratic Congress constituency Executives and donated the books to Akrofrom R/C basic school, Abrafi Senior High School, Bouyem St. Francis Seminary/Senior High School, Buoyem SDA basic school and Krobo R/C Primary School

Addressing the school authority, students, parents and the media, the legislature admitted that she is who she is today because of education and therefore determined to ensure that her constituents enjoy nothing but the best of education.
According to her, the books was given to her by the American based Africa Library Project and she deem it necessary to give out to these young ones to support them in their quest to attain higher heights in education.

According to her, the best way to be knowledgeable is to read, hence collaborated with Africa Library Protect that is based in America for them to provide her with books to donates them to schools within her constituency.

She explained that, she gave forms to schools that will need books and those that successfully filed and submitted the forms are those that benefited from the donation. At Bouyem SDA Basic School, I gave them thousand (1,000) library books and these books are standardize books being used in the United States of America, schools likes Krobo R/C Primary School and Akrofrom R/C basic school all got thousand library books to enhance teaching and learning process in the school.

She further disclosed that the books she donated were based on the level of education in each school as the secondary schools got advanced library books compared to that of the basic schools.

Lawyer Agyare urged other schools who did not have the share of the books to exercise patience and wait at the right time to deliver them to the schools.

She disclosed that, she would continue to donate the books to other schools in the constituency and urge schools that are yet to fill the forms she gave out to fill and submit they to enable her to know the schools that are in need of the books.

At the St. Francis Seminary/SHS, Hon. Elizabeth gave the school 300 integrated science workbooks as part of her Senior High Inter-Science Project.
The Member of Parliament use the opportunity to call on the government and other individual to come to the aid of the school in terms of book donation and other logistics

Rev. Father Martin Bilson Oduro, Headmaster of St Francis Seminary SHS expressed appreciation to lawyer Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare for given the school about 300 science work books which will help to enhance the teaching and learning activities in the school.

He said the school needs a lot of help such as classroom blocks and dormitory blocks and for that matter, make a passionate appeal to all Ghanaians to come to their aid to help them in acquiring infrastructures.

He disclosed that, the governments always struggling to improve the standard of education but can not do it alone without the support from the citizenry.

He said the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo is determined to make access to school easy.

The government on several occasions have vowed to ensure that every student will acquire at least a Senior High School (SHS) certificate hence, the introduction of the Free SHSs
