Upper East Regional Minister Leads Condolence Prayers for Helicopter Crash Victims

The Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Donatus Akamugri Atanga, and the Municipal Chief Executive for Bolgatanga Municipality, Hon. Roland Atanga Ayoo, led a delegation of regional and constituency executives to the Bolgatanga SDA Church for a prayer session in solidarity with the families of the eight individuals who lost their lives in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, in Adansi Akrofoum, Ashanti Region.

On behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council, and all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), Hon. Atanga expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved families, friends, and loved ones. He emphasized that the loss is not only felt in the Upper East Region but also across Ghana, and the regional minister joined the SDA Church in Bolgatanga Municipality in mourning the departed souls.

Hon. Atanga reminded the congregation of the promise in Scripture, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4), and encouraged them to hold on to the hope of meeting the departed again. He prayed for the peace of God to strengthen the bereaved families and the departed heroes during this difficult time .

The Regional Minister concluded by praying that the souls of the departed rest well with the Almighty God. This gesture demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting the bereaved families and communities affected by the tragic incident.

The prayer session at the Bolgatanga SDA Church served as a demonstration of solidarity with the families of the victims, providing an opportunity for the community to come together and offer support during this challenging time .
